About WORLD WOLVERINE DAY
World Wolverine Day is observed every year on March 10. It’s a global moment to spotlight one of the planet’s most resilient—and most misunderstood—carnivores: the wolverine (Gulo gulo).
WhY WWD?
Found across the Northern Hemisphere in North America and Eurasia, wolverines live in remote alpine and boreal landscapes where snow, wildness, and space still matter. While their populations are regionally distributed, the challenges they face—habitat fragmentation, climate stress, and the need for science-based management—reflect issues affecting many carnivores worldwide.
World Wolverine Day exists to build awareness, share reliable information, and connect people who care about conserving the wild places wolverines need to survive.
